Chara Calderone, Director

Solazzare’s director, Chara Calderone, is a certified Kripalu and Anusara yoga instructor. She began practicing yoga in 1995, has been teaching since 1997, and is registered with the Yoga Alliance. As an artist, performer and dancer, Chara combines her love of movement and self-expression into a unique style that is creative, dynamic and nurturing. Offering a heart-centered approach, her focus is on classical yoga postures, breathwork, meditation, alignment, body awareness and conscious movement. These techniques are wonderful for building both inner and outer strength, flexibility and balance. Her classes are special because they subtly weave the physical and mental aspects of the practice with the spiritual sacredness of this ancient art and science of life.

Chara’s instruction helps not only to develop correct posture and self-confidence, but also the ability to explore and express the truth of the inner self. Through the foundational principles of yoga and awareness practices, Chara helps people take their yoga practice off the matt and into everyday life. Her goal is to bring the gifts of these teachings to the greatest number of people through consultation, classes, workshops, performances, creative projects and media.

Richard Gange, Facilitator

Richard Gange has earned the nickname, “The Rock”….and for good reason.  Richard’s presence is grounded, kind and wise.  As assistant and co-facilitator of The Dream Life Program, Richard offers insight into the connection between science and spirituality.  An intuitive and skilled teacher of process learning, Richard fosters a supportive environment and invites students to be an active part of the learning process, allowing them to organically arrive at their own insights.

Richard was a teacher of Science for 30 years in Westfield. He was one of two teachers to plan and implement one of the first college prep. Environmental Science courses in New Jersey. He was part of a team that developed an alternative learning program for which Westfield High School was awarded NJ Star School status. He served on many school and district wide committees - one of which resulted in the implementation of a new model for the Supervision and Evaluation of teachers working in the school district. Richard has been a practicing yogi for over 7 years - exploring Iyengar, Kripalu and Sol Path Yoga. He has also studied at the Kripalu Institute and at the Haramara Retreat Center. Looking forward, Richard will be collaborating on creative, new ways to empower people in evolving toward their highest potential.

Thomas Roman, Technology Director

Thomas Roman is a Dream Life Alumni and credits the program to a lot of his success. As a media expert, he helps develop products and services to enhance Solazzares offerings. He worked closely with Lee Iacocca in the development and execution of the Global Village for Leaders of Business and Industry Program at the Iacocca Institute in Bethlehem, PA.

Mr. Roman earned both a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on Design and Manufacturing Processes, from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
